What You'll Need to Complete the Loan Application

Completing the loan application: You may find it helpful to print this page and gather the information before you begin the application.

Session timeout: as a security precaution, if you pause while completing the application, your session will time out and close after 15 minutes of inactivity. In other words, if you don't enter any information for 15 minutes or longer, you will automatically be logged out. If you need to leave the computer while filling out the fields, click "Save and Exit" to save the data on the current page. Please Note: if you have a pop-up blocker installed on your browser, you may not see the time out warning message.

Returning to complete your application: if you can't complete the application in one session, you can save your information by clicking "Save and Exit". To log back in, click the Continue Application Log In on the home page.

NOTE: You need to remember your e-mail address and password you selected on the Register screen.

Loan Application Instructions:

step 1 

Register - enter your e-mail address and select a password. Remember these! You can return to finish your application or check on the status of your application at any time. Also, enter the primary borrower's name and contact information (you can add co-borrower later).

If you are refinancing a property with an existing MetLife Home Loans mortgage, please have your loan number and Social Security number. We will automatically fill in loan and some personal information to save you time!

step 2 

Loan Information - loan (house price, loan amount) and specify the down payment and source, if applicable. If you are purchasing and haven't selected a property yet, please estimate any amounts.

step 3 

Property Information - information regarding the property you are buying that will secure the loan. If you are purchasing and haven't selected a property yet, please enter "tbd" in the address information and select the state in which the property will be located.

step 4 

Borrower Information - personal contact information for the borrower:

Personal Info: name, address (two- year history), Social Security number and any dependent's date of birth
Employment Info: employer name, address, phone and length of service for at least two years.
Income: all sources, including base income, commissions, pension, disability, benefits, and rental income).

The security of your information is our greatest concern. This is why we maintain the highest level of security for your protection; please refer to our security policy for details.

step 5 

Co-Borrower Information - same information as above for a co-borrower, if applicable.

step 6 

Current Expenses - estimate your current monthly expenses for the following:
Mortgage Rent
Real Estate Taxes Mortgage Insurance
Hazard Insurance Homeowner's Assoc. Dues
Alimony Child Support

step 7 

Real Estate Assets and Liabilities - property you own either separately or jointly (address, property type, estimated value, any rental income, and tax/insurance fees). Loan data on the property (monthly payment, balance, and creditor's name).

step 8 

Financial Assets - account balances (checking, savings, CDs, money market, and brokerage) and individual stock/bond/mutual funds/vested retirement, for both you and co-borrower, if applicable.

step 9 

Government Declaration and Information - both borrower and co-borrower.

step 10 

Acknowledge and Submit - verify your loan information's accuracy and submit your information.
